The Firstmark story began in 1932 at Fox Tech High School, where ten teachers signed a charter to form San Antonio Teachers Credit Union, later becoming Firstmark Credit Union. For the last 89 years Firsmark Credit Union has put schools first. Firstmark Credit Union offers educator loans tailored to the needs of teachers and each year provide grants, academic planners, and curriculum bags to teachers in the local community. In 2020, Firstmark provided meal bags for students, 5,000 masks to schools and hosted a "turkeys for teachers" giveaway. While Firstmark Credit Union began with an educator-only field of membership, Firstmark has expanded to a full community charter in all 21 counties they serve.
